Bachelor of Business Information Systems (BBIS): Industry-based Learning (IBL) Scholarships

The BBIS Industry Based Learning Scholarship (IBL) is worth $36,000 over three years of study. IBL students receive $6000 in first year and $15,000 in second and third years.

How to Apply

Students interested in the pre-admission release of industry based learning places and scholarships are required to:

  • Apply directly to the Clayton School of Information Technology for a 1st round IBL scholarship by Friday 12 December 2008.
  • List the Bachelor of Business Information Systems (VTAC code 28421) as a course preference in their VTAC application and

Approximately 50 year 12 applicants will be invited to interviews in December. The interview outcomes will be confirmed the day after the interview,  and students will be offered IBL scholarships subject to admission to the degree through the VTAC process.

Please note:
IBL scholarships are offered on condition that students are admitted to the degree through VTAC. The IBL scholarship selection is completely independent of the VTAC admission process.

IBL Information Evening.

There will be an IBL Information Evening on August 7, 2008 for prospective students and parents (pdf, 71kb).

 

Applying for the 2nd release of IBL Scholarships (first year Bachelor of Business Information Systems students only):

The second intake of students into the Industry Based Learning Stream is determined in December each year after the completion of first year at Monash. Interviews will be offered to students after the semester 2 results are released.
To be eligible for interviews students must be of good conduct and meet the following requirements:

  1. Enrolled in the 1st year of the Bachelor of Business Information Systems
  2. A Bachelor of Business Information Systems first year local student.
  3. Completed all seven core 1st year units and one Business & Economics elective as described in the course map.
  4. Pass every unit undertaken in semester 1 and 2.
  5. Maintain at least a credit average across all units taken in both semesters.
  6. Students who have failed one unit in Semester 1 may still be entitled to apply if they have re-enrolled and passed the unit in Semester 2.
