Membership of the Centre for Research into Intelligent Systems

Membership of the Centre is restricted to members of staff of the University who have been Chief Investigators on a National Competitive Grant in the area of Intelligent Systems. Affiliate membership will be open to any member of staff or honorary affiliate of the University who has published in the area of intelligent systems. Affiliate members will have equal access to all Centre activities, but will not be able to participate in any internal funding schemes or have voting rights for any Centre related decision-making purposes.

Postgraduate membership will be open to any postgraduate student who is currently supervised by a member of CRIS or who is undertaking research in the area of intelligent systems. Postgraduate members will have access to Centre activities at the discretion of the Centre Directors but will not be able to participate in any internal funding schemes or have voting rights for any Centre related decision-making purposes.

Should there be any doubt about an individual's qualification for full, affiliate or postgraduate membership, it will be decided by the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology.

Applications to join the Centre, either as an associate or as a full member, should be accompanied by evidence of research (e.g. list of publications) in the area of intelligent systems. Applications for full membership must also include details of funded national competitive grants related to intelligent systems. Applications for postgraduate membership need only be accompanied by evidence of research in the area of intelligent systems if they are not supervised by a CRIS member.
