Learning Skills Unit

The Learning Skills Unit (LSU) assists students with problems concerned with study, learning and the use of academic English in your faculty. We can help with the following:

  • organising your work
  • understanding what your tutors require
  • participating in tutorials and lectures
  • reading effectively in your subjects
  • understanding essay and assignment topics and analysing what you need to do
  • taking notes and organising them
  • developing arguments and structuring assignments
  • avoiding plagiarism
  • following the conventions of presentation (footnotes, bibliographies etc.)
  • English structure and style
